Ellen Erefaa Briggs-Odebisi

Ellen had worked in the oil city, Port Harcourt, after her call to the Nigerian Bar in 2013. She worked in a couple of well reputed law firms. Ellen has a track record of diligence/dedication to her work and strives always to maintain an excellent standard. Since relocating to Lagos, and joining our Practice as Associate Partner, she has brought her reputation of excellent work attitude and great team spirit to fruition. She is the acting head of the Legal Advisory and Compliance Practice Department.

Experience

Acted as company secretary and legal compliance officer for various companies.
Advised clients on acquisition and finance of real estate.
Provided legal opinions for clients inbriefs spanning a variety of subjects including matrimonial causes, interpretation of new laws, winding up proceedings, recovery proceedings under the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria Act, maritime claims and violation of the rights of commercial entities under Chapter IV of the Nigerian Constitution.
Represented and advised clients in various white-collar crimes.
Part of the team that represented clients atvarious election petition tribunals.
Represented clients in alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
Part of the team that drafted sundry bills.
Initiated and structured third party vendor contracts for a major Nigerian based company.
